February was a great month! I got to spend the first part down in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and take care of a lot of things. While I was there, God reminded me of something and it changed my perspective on things. I am very grateful for the life that He has given me! And upon returning to San Diego, I stayed busy with lots of work and ministry. I feel very blessed.

I worked a couple of days in construction. The church I attend when I am in Aguascalientes is expanding and needs more space. I got to lay block, which is one of my favorite jobs, and by the time I left things looked very different. I plan on bringing a missions team down in June, so please be praying about coming with us.

I checked in on Chevon a couple of times and I was able to get a lot of her medication that she will be needing over the next couple of months. I spoke with the head nurse and we both agreed that Chevon has been slowing down ever since we changed her physical therapist. Her mobility has gone downhill pretty dramatically so we decided to make some changes. We brought back my friend Karina who does excellent work. Chevon doesn't like her therapy sessions as much because they are way more intense. But it's worth it because the results are much better. We hope that Chevon's mobility will start to get better and her quality of life will increase. Please keep her in your prayers!

I helped one of my girls move. Elvira decided she wanted to change houses so I borrowed the van from my church and we packed up all of her things. I am renting her a room with a friend of ours. From her new location, there are better bus routes to and from school. I also like the move because now she is very close to where I live instead of across the city.

On February 10th, Elvira started school again. After a month and a half of vacation, she is now refreshed and ready to start her 4th semester of med school. I stayed a little longer than usual so I could take her on her 1st day back. She has chosen a difficult career but she is doing well and I'm very proud of her.

I flew home on February 10th. It was a great trip and everything worked out perfectly. I got to do everything that I needed and more. I love being down in Aguascalientes, but it was time to get back to work and back to teaching the youth at church.

And I want to finish with a personal testimony. While I was in Aguascalientes, I met a man named Miguel. Miguel is the friend of a friend and recently he had a very serious accident. Miguel was painting in the street and the extension on his paint roller touched the electrical power lines. The power lines are very high voltage and will cause serious injury, if not death. The bystanders said it looked like lightning went off in the street and he was knocked back about 5-10 feet. Miguel was taken to the hospital and the doctors said, "He's lucky to be alive." There are some pretty gruesome pictures of how he looked after the incident. I met Miguel 2 1/2 months after he was electrocuted and his skin was still very burned and scarred. He has trouble sleeping because he is constantly burning/itching. I felt bad for him but also am happy that he is alive. I was able to share some Bible verses with Miguel and pray for him. I hope he realizes the 2nd chance that God has given him and turns his heart over to the Lord.

Lately I have been wondering exactly what God's plan is for me. I definitely have a heart for ministry and want to serve the Lord full time. Since I returned from the mission field, I feel God has closed many doors and all of the plans that I had have been changed. Sometimes a life of faith is not always easy and it doesn't always make sense. But the moment I met Miguel and heard his story, my attitude changed. The reason is that back in January of 2021, the same thing happened to me. We were pouring the concrete floor of the church that we were building and that day I accidentally touched the powerlines with the extension on my concrete float. Sparks were shooting everywhere and the electricity burned a couple of holes in the handle. When I realized what was happening, I threw the float down and just started thanking God over and over because nothing happened to me...NOT EVEN A TINY SHOCK! After hearing Miguel's story, I felt God strongly remind me that He has always been with me. He protected me from this serious injury and He has abundantly provided for all of the ministries that I've been involved with over the years. That night I went home and changed my attitude of doubt into an attitude of praise and gratitude! Back in San Diego, I shared this testimony with my Jr High class at church and let them know that God is real and He is still alive on His throne, protecting and performing miracles for His children!
