What's going on in Aguascalientes

There is a lot going on down here in Aguascalientes, Mexico. I want to keep you all informed with the highlights each month. Thank you to all who pray for and support these ministries. We are able to bless so many people and we couldn't do it without you. To God be all the glory. Gracias amigos!

July was a very productive month. Lots of progress has been made in multiple areas and things are all coming together. Soon I will be able to go home in peace knowing that I have done the work the Lord has entrusted to me.

My girls graduated high school! They finished all of their classes in June but the ceremony wasn't until July. Ariana was asked to give the commencement speech...what an honor! On a Friday we had the graduation ceremony and the following evening was a huge party for all of the students and their guests. It was a very nice event and lots of friends came to celebrate with us. I'm so proud of my girls and am excited for what God is going to do in their lives...next step: college.

I did a really cool project at the church I attend. They put in tiles and right in the center of the floor I did the church logo. I first cut the tiles in their form, then traced them on the floor and cut out their place before laying them down. It turned out really nice and gives the new floor a nice touch.

Before

After

I emptied out my room (which looked like a storage unit) at the orphanage. Since things are coming to a close it was time to get everything ready. I pray God will bring somebody else with a love for this ministry and for these kids. They are in need of help/volunteers.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few."  -Matthew 9:37

My good friends, Kyleigh & Luis (Junior), just moved into a house pretty close to where I live and I've been helping them fix up the place. Kyleigh has helped me out a lot over the years at the orphanage. I would always say that she was my most faithful volunteer. And her husband Junior is a chef. He needs a lot of kitchen/storage space for his work because he prepares meals for some businesses around the area. I installed some shelves and also a counter with cupboards so he has lots of space to work. I just have to put on the doors and it'll all be finished.

We took a big step forward with Chevon, but it didn't last very long. Someone recommended a woman named Cory who would be able to live with Chevon and take care of her at night in case of an emergency. We had a successful interview and Cory moved in. I thought it was going to be a good fit but after two weeks she decided it wasn't for her and moved out. But God has His way of doing things. We haven't found a replacement for Cory, but since it is no longer sustainable to have care during the night, we have decided to leave Chevon on her own. She has spent a couple of nights alone for the first time since her fall back in October 2022 and she handled it well. Hopefully this situation will push her to be more independent and get used to doing things for herself again.

On a personal note, I got to record more music. I have been working on an album with the help of my pastor/friend Isaac Gutierrez. He has a nice studio in his house and has helped me to turn my ideas into reality. I play the guitar and sing while Isaac does the drums and bass. He is a very talented musician. We are finishing up 10 songs and I hope to be able to share them very soon!

And finally, we celebrated Elvira's 21st birthday. Her birthday is July 29th but we celebrated the following day after church. We invited some friends and went to Buffalo Wild Wings. Elvira is a beautiful young woman and I am so proud of her. She just finished high school and will be starting college at the beginning of August. She is going to study to become a doctor and I know that she has a great future ahead of her. Please keep her in your prayers, that God will continue to bless her life.
