February was a good month. I spent the whole time in the US, working hard, but plan on getting back down to Aguascalientes very soon to say hi and take care of some things. I do miss it there but also enjoy being home in San Diego.

To start off this month's blog, I'm happy and excited to share about one of my girls, Elvira. She started her 2nd semester of college on February 6th. She is studying medicine and plans on being a doctor. She is learning a lot and their class had to dissect a pig's heart this month (Ew! Praise God for doctors and their stomachs to be able to do this stuff). The students had to supply their own material, which was strange to me. I joked that we can go for tacos one night and ask for the entire pig heart "para llevar" (to go). The school referred them to a place that deals in these materials and everything worked out.

I did some work for my friend Nick from church. He had an entertainment center that was built into the wall that he wanted removed. I demoed that and then we had to patch up the huge hole in the floor that was left over. It looked as good as new when we finished. I enjoyed working with new materials that I am not used to working with down in Mexico.

We did a concrete driveway for a lady in the church. We were supposed to have a team of guys but it ended up just being my friend Ron and me. It was a lot of work but we got it done and everything turned out well. Ron is an incredible guy and has the strength of Caleb (Caleb is a man in the Bible who never lost his strength and was able to go to war well into his 80's [Joshua 14:6-14]). I'm really glad he was there to help!

The Jr High Ministry is going very well. I have been finding fun/interactive ways to teach the kids the Word of God. One of the sermons was about the "Prodigal Son" (Luke 15). I came in dressed in a robe and throughout the lesson I kept calling on the kids to come up and stain the robe (good thing I brought a tarp because there was mud, pesto, tomato sauce and egg all over the floor). At the end of the story, when the son returns to his father's house, he is welcomed with a grand celebration and given new clothes - clothes of honor. That is when I took off the dirty/stained robe and revealed my suit, which I had on the whole time, hidden underneath.

The story represents God's love for us and that even if we have walked away from Him, He wants us to return to Him. If we repent of our sins, God is faithful to forgive us and welcome us into His loving arms (1 John 1:9). Praise God for being so good!
